Azerbaijan to export weapons to some Arab countries
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry will export weapons, ammunition and other defense goods to a number of Arab countries, AzeriDefence magazine reported with reference to Azerbaijani Minister of Defense Industry Yaver Jamalov.

Jamalov said that Azerbaijan has received appropriate orders from a number of Arab countries at the international defense industry exhibition IDEX-2015, held in Abu Dhabi February 22-28.

"Today, the Arab region is a promising market for the defense industry worldwide,” he said. “Azerbaijan is also interested in this market."

He said that a number of Arab countries are interested in acquiring weapons, including rocket-propelled grenades and ammunition.

“The relevant export contract will be signed among Azerbaijan and these countries in the near future,” he said.

The great interest was shown to the ministry’s goods presented at the International Defense Industry Exhibition IDEX-2015, held in Abu Dhabi, the ministry told Trend earlier.

In particular, sniper rifles "İstiqlal-1T", "Mubariz", "Yalquzaq", "Yirtici", "Simsek-10" machine gun, various types of ammunition were demonstrated. A 5.56mm caliber rifle, meeting the NATO standards, was presented for the first time.
