Protestors expressed their opposition against the law on military service adopted by the Armenian Parliament.
Protestors claim that the legislation adopted by Vigen Sargsyan would limit their educational opportunities as well as affect their future lives.
Students shouted slogans such as ‘Deferment for the sake of science should exist’.
Currently, students want to meet with the Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan and representatives of Commission on Defense and Security of Armenian Parliament.
Note, new legislation abolishes temporary exemptions from military service that have long been enjoyed by many students of state-run universities.
