European Commission: Russia can use TANAP for gas delivery to Greece
The European Commission has confirmed Russia can use the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to deliver gas to Greece in case it [Russia] constructs the South Stream gas pipeline, the European Commission`s Energy Advisor Brendan Devlin said.

The European diplomat says, another gas pipeline other than the Southern Gas Corridor is unlikely to appear in Southeast Europe because “markets in the region are too small”.

“It does not matter so much to us whether the gas supplier is Russia, Azerbaijan, or Libya. We applied the same rules on Gazprom and Russia. If you wonder whether the TAP can be used by them [Russia or Gazprom], the answer is ‘yes’,” he stressed.
