" Azerbaijan plays key role in preventing foreign terrorists from crossing into Syria "
Terrorist organizations like Daesh, PKK, PYD, YPG, DHKP-C and MLKP are all the same, with the common ambition of weakening Turkey, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with APA, Trend and AZERTAC.
“Thanks to standing as one body, one soul against terror and terrorist organizations, we did thwart the most malicious coup attempt in our history which was made by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) terrorist organization and resulted in the death of 250 citizens and left 2,193 more wounded,” said Erdogan.

Erdogan thanked President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for demonstrating solidarity with Turkey against this treacherous organization.

“I do know that the people of Azerbaijan expressed support for our stance on the night of July 15th and sincerely wished the treacherous coup attempt would end in failure. This is indicative of the strength of Turkey-Azerbaijan brotherhood,” said the Turkish president.

FETO is a threat to every country it has presence in, Erdogan stressed. “Therefore, we’re content with the action Azerbaijan has been taking against FETO,” he added.

He noted that Turkey is cooperating with Azerbaijan in every area, including in the field of counterterrorism.

“Our authorities continue to do intelligence and data exchange. We also cooperate in operations,” said Erdogan pointing out that Azerbaijan plays a key role in preventing foreign terrorists from crossing into Syria and is doing efficient work in this direction.
