At Gobustan, Ambassador Cekuta got to see cultural artifacts and carvings, which date back to some of the region`s earliest settlements during the Stone Age.
Gobustan historical site is also an archaeological reserve.
Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2007.
The excursion to Gobustan is the diplomat’s first visit to Azerbaijani regions.
