In his welcoming speech, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked the heads of delegations for accepting the invitation to attend the ceremony.
The UAE’s Vice President, Prime Minister and Emir of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum said that the opening of Louvre Abu Dhabi is a first museum of its kind in the Arab world.
Underlining the importance of the museum in the Middle East and Arab world, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his gratitude to the UAE leadership for its particular attention to values such as dialogue between cultures and civilizations, tolerance and secularism. He said he was confident that the opening of such a museum would contribute to the development of cooperation with Islam and the Arab world.
On the sidelines of the event, Garayev and his UAE counterpart Reem Al Kaabi discussed issues of cultural cooperation between the two countries.
