Russia, Azerbaijan to jointly explore space, says Russian cosmonaut
Russia’s State Corporation for Space Activities, Roscosmos, intends to establish cooperation with Azerbaijan’s Azercosmos OJSC in the field of space exploration, cosmonaut and Hero of the Russian Federation Oleg Kotov told Trend in Baku.
“This is just the level of inter-institutional relations, but the purpose of my visit is to establish cooperation at the level of the state agencies of Roscosmos and Azercosmos, in terms of space exploration, in order to return the integration that we had during the period of former Soviet Union,” said Kotov.

The cosmonaut also spoke about the lifeworthy exoplanets. He noted that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States (NASA) recently published a report that an Earth-like planet has been found, but it is very far away.

“Search is underway,” noted Kotov adding that there are planets that are at a distance of many light years from the Earth, and “accordingly, they are not reachable for us.”

“Such studies are primarily of a theoretical nature,” he added. “Meanwhile, applied tasks on the development of the solar system are being solved. In any case, today there is a task of determining the possibility of flight, landing and life on Mars.”
