Azad Rahimov elaborates on rumors about Olympic stadium collapse
Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov has commented on rumors about the collapse of the Olympic stadium in Baku.
The minister said the works on the stadium proceed at full speed:

"Hundreds of people work on the stadium and if there was any threat, no one would be left there. These rumors are aimed at discrediting the European Games that will be held in Baku. Many rumors are heard in Azerbaijan and this news about the stadium is just one of them.

Azad Rahimov also answered the question about Armenia`s participation in the European Games in Baku. He said sportsmen from all European countries will come to Baku: "We are watching the number of all teams and sportsmen to come here. I have heard that Armenian sportsmen in Greco-Roman wrestling and gymnasts do not want to come to Azerbaijan. Yesterday the National Olympic Committee of Armenia held a session and ruled that Armenian sportsmen can take the decision themselves".

The minister also elaborated on the prohibition of weddings and funerals: "Weddings and funeral ceremonies will be allowed during the Games. I was personally invited to a wedding at that period. Do not believe such rumors". he said.
