Azerbaijan will reduce the term of early presidential election from 3 to 2 months.
This is according to a proposed draft amendment to Article 179 of the Election Code which states that an early presidential election shall be held in 60 days, rather than three months, once scheduled by the Central Election Commission, AzVision.az reported.
The draft amendment will be tabled at tomorrow’s meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building.
