Azerbaijan invests $ 302 mln in Georgia
The Statistics Service released the data.Foreign direct investment in Georgia in 2014 amounted to $ 1,272 mln. According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, it is a preliminary, unspecified information, and it is 39% higher than the preliminary figures for 2013 and 35.1% more the revised estimates for 2013.

The proportion of re-investment in total foreign direct investment in 2014 was 21%. In 2013, the figure was 29%, in 2012 - 13%, in 2011 - 30%.

The largest investor in Georgia in 2014 were the Netherlands - $ 331 mln, or 26% of total foreign direct investment. Azerbaijan is in second place - $ 302 mln. (24%), the third is China with $ 195 mln (15%).

Most investments were made in transport and communications ($ 343 mln, or 27%), second place is occupied by construction ($ 295 mln), followed by the processing industry ($ 174 mln), energy ($ 99 mln) and real estate ($ 87 mln).
