The fourth guest of the project is a professor at the Boston University Andrew Bacevich. He is an American historian specializing in international relations, security studies, American foreign policy, and American diplomatic and military history.

He has told that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is of great importance for people who live in South Caucasus, but this region isn't one of the priorities of Trump’s administration.



"If we consider a number of issues which concern the USA such as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, instability in the Middle East and a Russia problem, I seriously doubt that Trump's administration will pay very close attention to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict", Basevich noted.

The American political scientist also commented on the reason why the UN Security Council resolutions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict had not been fulfilled: ”The resolutions will be fulfilled if they completely meet the interests of five powers – permanent members of the UN Security Council”.

"These countries have the right to veto the draft resolutions of the UN, regardless of the support which this issue receives. Permanent members of the UN Security Council rarely agree on the important issues, which have been vetoed. As a result, the UN wasn't an effective institution capable to promote the peace", - Basevich has said.

Note, the first guest of our project was Algirdas Paleckis, a former Vilnius Vice-Mayor, former member of Lithuanian parliament, politician and columnist, the second guest was Dr. Stevan Gayich, the Serbian analyst, the leading expert of Institute of the European Studies (Belgrade) and the third one was David Eisenbach, the American historian and the political scientist, the teacher of Columbia University.
