Turkish president invites Ilham Aliyev to attend OIC’s Jerusalem summit

President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a phone call to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on December 9, AzVision.az reports.

Turkish president invited Ilham Aliyev to the emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the Jerusalem issue to be held in Istanbul. Ilham Aliyev accepted the invitation.

"Trump's decision over recognition of Jerusalem as capital and arrangements to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv is a mistake which contradicts the international law and can pose a threat to the entire Middle East region", the presidents added.

"At the same time, we will always protect the interests of the Muslim world", they noted highlighting Azerbaijan and Turkey's contributions to the Islamic solidarity.
