The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) released a new decision on the case of Chiragov and Others v. Armenia (application no. 13216/05). The Armenian Government had to pay 5,000 euros in respect of pecuniary and non-pecuniary damage to each of the applicants and a total amount of 28,642,87 pounds sterling for costs and expenses.
“Our lawyers calculated the cost of a damage in 50 000 euros. However, we calculated 2 million euros per person per 24 years (2016) as a result of Armenian occupation. IT was a real cost of the damage. On the other hand, we will be paid 5000 euros in regard to the decision of the court”, he added.
