Azerbaijan establishing plants for production of explosives for ammunition
The work is underway to establish plants for the production of explosives for ammunition in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Minister of Defense Industry Yaver Jamal said in an article published in the country’s official press Dec. 17.
The minister recalled that the complex work was over at two production enterprises in June 2017 and Azerbaijani Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev attended the commissioning ceremony.

“Thus, the number of industrial enterprises, which were put into operation, has been brought up to 58,” he said.

Azerbaijan has launched preliminary tests of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capable of striking human targets and enemy’s military equipment. Unmanned aerial vehicles with cumulative ferrules have already been tested. UAVs will have the ability to independently detect and destroy both human targets and the enemy's military equipment. Moreover, negotiations on the creation of electropulse weapons are being conducted with a number of countries”, he said.

As for the establishment of a joint venture with the Israeli company, Jamalov added that Azerbaijan produces unmanned aerial vehicles for various purposes. "We are negotiating various issues with Turkey’s Aselsan company,” he said. “We have already decided to establish a service department at the Alov plant. In 2018 we intend to implement projects with a number of Turkish companies, as well as relevant organizations of other countries."

The minister said that the creation and use of a 23 mm sniper rifle can also be attributed to these projects. "Moreover, work is underway to create devices capable of landing unmanned vehicles of the enemy,” he said. “The projects related to the transfer of uncontrolled air bombs to controlled ones will be implemented.”
