Georgian opposition objects to transport of goods from Armenia
Georgian opposition strictly criticized Giorgi Kvirikashvili's proposal on the transport of cargo from Armenia to Russia through the territories of South Ossetia and Abkhazia due to force majeure, AzVision.az reports.
Georgian PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili made this proposal in his speech at the parliament. He also stated that not only Armenia but also Turkey and other countries can use this route by reason of force majeure.

This transport corridor was mentioned in the contract signed between Russia and Georgia in 2011. Georgia has signed a contract with the Swiss company SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance SA) in Bern on December 19, 2017, which will ensure the monitoring of the agreement made between Georgia and Russia in 2011 on cargo movement.

A transport of cargo through the third country is contrary to the conditions of the contract signed in 2011, the former Georgian FM, a member of Georgia's United National Movement (UNM) opposition party Grigol Vashadze stated. Nothing was mentioned in this contract to allow Armenia to transport cargo via this corridor.
