USA exposes Armenia’s criminal schemes
By Balifa Bakshiyeva

‘Sanctions by the USA against 10 Eurasian “criminal lords”, including the member of the Armenian Investors Club Ruben Tatulyan Robson who has a diplomatic passport of the RA, are quite a serious signal targeted at the Armenian administration and they in turn must choose which direction they want to move in.’
This is the statement by Styopa Safaryan, head of Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs, reports AzVision.az citing one of Armenian publications.

He claims after these sanctions were imposed, Russian businesses are trying to save themselves by looking for platforms in other country or changing the formats of their businesses. As the list of members of the Investors Club of Armenia was published, some of the Russian experts noted that there are quite a few names, whose businesses are going south in Russia.

‘It seems they are indeed trying to save everything they can at least in Armenia. It is hard to say whether they were going to invest into Armenia or, quite the contrary, become “shareholders” for investments of others and thus survive. But seeing as these people have become a problem for the USA, Washington is intending to keep a close watch on the impact of these sanctions not only in Russia, but in the countries in the Russian orbit and cannot allow these people to take advantage of yet another opportunity to survive and gain power. The USA has let Armenia know that they are perfectly well aware of what is going on and that Armenia has to face a choice – whether to go against American sanctions or allow these people preserve their economic power and strength by investing into Armenia. There can be no accidence in the statement that Robson was not the member of the Investors Club of Armenia. Yerevan seems to have understood all the risks and threats and is trying to distance others from Robson’, he concluded.
