Azerbaijan to increase number of peacekeepers in Afghanistan

Azerbaijani MPs discussed the amendments to the law "on granting consent to the deployment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the battalion of the Turkish Republic Armed Forces and under the general command of NATO structures in Afghanistan and participation in relevant operations" at today's last plenary meeting of the Azerbiajani Parliament's 2017 autumn session, AzVision.az reports.
According to the law, the restrictions on number of Azerbaijani peacekeepers in Afghanistan have been eliminated. This decision will come into force on January 1, 2018. Following the discussions, the draft amendment was adopted by voting.
