Pentagon criticizes signing of S-400 agreement between Russia and Turkey
The Pentagon criticized Turkey’s agreement with Russia to purchase S-400 surface-to-air missile system stating that it does not meet Turkey’s needs, AzVision.az reports citing RIA Novosti.
“NATO air defense systems is a better option for Turkey to protect itself from the dangers in the region rather than S-400 systems. The United States is committed to expediting the delivery of “Patriot” systems purchased by Turkey”, the Pentagon official said.

Note, Turkey and Russia on Dec. 29 sealed a loan agreement for the purchase of the S-400 anti-missile system worth $2.5 billion, the Hurriyet daily news reports.

Ankara and Moscow had already reached the agreement for the purchase of four batteries of S-400 surface-to-air missiles, but the deal had been waiting for the final phase, financing the purchase through a loan provided by Russia.
