Multiple injuries as barrier collapses after Gulf Cup final in Kuwait
At least 30 football fans were injured Friday after a glass barrier collapsed at the Gulf Cup final in Kuwait, AzVision.az reports citing Arab news.
The incident occurred after Oman had beaten the UAE 5-4 after a penalty shootout to lift the trophy for the second time in their history.
The jubilant Oman players were showing off the trophy to fans at one end of the stadium. As the fans pushed forward to catch a glimpse of their heroes, a glass barrier at the front of the stand collapsed, according to an Arab News correspondent at the scene.

At least 30 people were injured with multiple ambulances at the scene, Al Arabiya reported. There were no reports of serious injuries or fatalities.

The incident took place after a dramatic final in which UAE hero Omar Abdulrahman missed a penalty in the dying minutes of normal time before missing the decisive fifth spotkick to gift Oman the trophy.
