Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov made the due statement speaking before reporters at an agricultural fair, located in Khatai district near the "Baku" cinema.

According to H.Asadov, the Ministry has no administrative measures of influence on price reduction.

"We have reduced prices by increasing market supply and fully meeting the demand. If exactly, our prices are automatically generated in accordance with the law. I think that people will make purchases at these prices without any difficulty," the Minister said.

The Minister said that the holiday fair will last for 7 days.

Asadov also said that this year the number of fairs has increased:

"The second fair is organized in Khatai and Yasamal districts. In Binagadi district the fair was upgraded, in Surakhani district a new one was opened, and in the coming days, a fair will be organized in Sumgait."

The minister answered questions about changes in prices for dried fruit, he said that most of the dried fruit are mainly imported:

"A slight shortage on the world market, as well as on the markets of the countries from where we import dried fruit. The rise in prices on these products is observed on a global scale, as well as in Azerbaijan."

The minister also stressed that in order to achieve lower prices for agricultural products in the country it is necessary to offer more support to farmers, and in this regard the work is carried out.
