A meeting of the Azerbaijani-Moldovan intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation is planned to be held in the first half of 2018, Moldovan Ambassador to Azerbaijan George Leuka told reporters.
The envoy noted the importance of relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova.

“In connection with the fact that Azerbaijan declared the year 2018 as the ‘Year of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic’, special attention will be paid to the events planned to be organized in Moldova during this year,” he said. “A number of cultural events are planned to be held in Azerbaijan this year.”

The diplomat went on to say that work will start next month on the preparation of an anthology of Moldovan literature in the Azerbaijani language, and Azerbaijani literature in the Romanian language.

He also announced that Azerbaijan and Moldova will organize a forum with the participation of businessmen from both countries.

Stressing that Moldova took over GUAM chairmanship in 2018, the ambassador said that a number of high-level meetings and visits, including meetings at the level of presidents, are expected to take place during the year.
