Azerbaijan may reduce tariffs for international rail passenger traffic
Azerbaijan Railways CJSC appealed to Russian Railways OJSC and Georgian Railways JSC with a proposal to reduce tariffs for international passenger traffic, Azerbaijan Railways reported March 16.
The tariffs for international passenger traffic by railway in Azerbaijan increased by about 25 percent on March 11, 2015, the statement said.

"This growth is associated with the changed rate of the national currencies of Russia, Georgia and Ukraine versus the Swiss franc,” the statement said. “The tariffs increased in accordance with the regulatory tariffs for international transportation, associated with the Swiss franc."

In this regard, Azerbaijan Railways appealed to the management of Russian Railways and Georgian Railways regarding the tariff reduction for passenger transportation.

"The decision on the tariff reduction can be made in the coming days," the statement said.
