The meeting will focus on the work planned in 2018, including security in the OSCE area, combating counterterrorism, drug trafficking and ensuring cybersecurity.
In his speech, Lavrov positively assessed Italy’s priorities during OSCE’s chairmanship.
“I would like to express our support for your plan to address the migration crisis in the OSCE area. And at today’s meeting, we are ready to listen to Italy’s work plan during its OSCE chairmanship,” Russia’s top diplomat said.
The Russian and Italian foreign ministers will also discuss the ongoing conflicts in the OSCE area, including the Ukrainian crisis, the Transnistrian and Nagorno-Karabakh problems.
