Turkey not to forget Azerbaijani people`s feat in Battle of Canakkale - PM
Turkey will not forget the feat of the Azerbaijani people who fought together with our ancestors against the invaders during the Battle of Canakkale, TRT Haber TV channel reported referring to Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu March 18.
Davutoglu was delivering a speech at the festivity on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the victory during the Battle of Canakkale.

The event was held in the Turkish province of Canakkale.

"The Kurds and representatives of other nationalities who lived in Turkey during that period also fought against the invaders during the Battle of Canakkale," he said.

Turkey celebrates the 100th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Canakkale on March 18.

More than 500,000 people were killed during the Battle of Canakkale during the World War I. Some 57,000 people were killed in this battle. Azerbaijani soldiers were also involved in this heroic battle.

Turkey calls the Battle of Canakkale as the "battle of gentlemen", no matter how bloody it was.

The country`s officials have repeatedly stated that this battle was one of the bloodiest in the history of Turkey, but the warring sides never forgot about the humanity during the war.
