Armenians fail at UNESCO
Turkey`s ambassador to France Hakki Akil prevented it, AzVision.az reports quoting AZERTAC.
The diplomat sent a letter to UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova and strongly protested against the organization of exhibition on the so-called Armenian genocide under another name at the UNESCO headquarters. He stressed that the genocide, of which 100th anniversary the Armenians are going to celebrate, has no historical and legal basis and it is just the embodiment of Armenia’s hatred against Turkey for centuries.
Taking into account the reasonable facts and protest of the ambassador, UNESCO`s leadership didn’t allow the organization of the exhibition, scheduled for March 30.
