Armenia's speaking about peace under current conditions is a clear hypocrisy, spokesperson of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmat Hajiyev told on Feb. 16.

He made the remarks commenting on views about the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the annual "Worldwide Threat Assessment" report of the US Intelligence Community.

Hajiyev said the ongoing occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia continues to be a major threat to regional peace and security.

“Armenia is an unserious and hypocritical country which talks about peace despite of military occupation of Azerbaijani lands and continuation of illegal activities in the occupied Azerbaijani territories and annexation of those lands”, Hajiyev stated.

“The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs have several times stated that current status-quo is inacceptable. In order to change the status-quo, Armenia must implement four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts and the factor of military risk must be eliminated”, Hajiyev added.
