Iran-Azerbaijan defense co-op against no country, says Iran
Defense cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Azerbaijan is not against a third country, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said in his statement to IRNA.

General Hatami said Iran is determined to establish very good relations with all its neighbors but Azerbaijan has a very special status in Iran's foreign diplomacy.

Iran and Azerbaijan with the help of other Caspian Sea littoral states should maintain the security of the Sea and any negligence to this end will result to interference of others which will be harmful to the security of the region, he said.

Azerbaijan has attained significant development in military, defense and industries mainly after its independence, he added.

During the visit we have fruitful talks with Azeri prime minister and defense minister on issues of mutual interests and expansion of bilateral cooperation, the Iranian defense minister said.
