He noted that after this order, the Azerbaijani parliament made changes to the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Offenses, and the application of the law started on Dec. 1, 2017.
“According to the submissions, 479 prisoners were released, 585 prisoners had their terms of sentence shortened, 465 persons were released from other types of punishment, and 59 prisoners had their punishment alleviated," Huseynli said.
He noted that in addition it is planned to send submissions regarding 5,000 prisoners.
