Putin supports Nazarbayev
Putin noted that Nazarbayev is "undoubtedly the recognized leader of his country"
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has supported Friday the candidacy of incumbent Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Nazarbayev will run for president at the elections scheduled for April 26. Putin wished him luck in the election campaign.
"For all those who love Kazakhstan, for those who value its stable, gradual and very significant development, it is, of course, important for everyone to support the president of Kazakhstan," Putin told journalists.
Putin noted that Nazarbayev is "undoubtedly the recognized leader of his country." The Kazakhstani president is "very authoritative not only in Kazakhstan, but in the whole world," Putin added.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed a decree on early presidential election on April 26, 2015. The early presidential election was initiated by the Council of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan on February 14.
The nomination process finished on March 15. Three candidates were registered for the election - incumbent President Nursulatan Nazarbayev from the Nur Otan (Radiant Fatherland) Party, candidate from Kazakhstan’s Communist People’s Party Turgun Syzdykov and independent candidate Abilgazi Kusainov.
Nazarbayev has been the leader of Kazakhstan since 1989. Then, he served at the First Secretary of the Central Committee of Kazakhstan’s Communist Party. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Nazarbayev was elected president. In 2007, the parliament granted him the right to run for president as many times as he wanted.
