Turkish FM Cavusoglu to meet Russian counterpart Lavrov in Moscow

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu are set to meet in Moscow on March 14, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency reported on March 2, quoting an official.

The ministers will hold a session of the Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Joint Commission, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zaharova reportedly said at a news conference in Moscow.

At the commission Lavrov and Cavusoglu will clarify their positions on key issues of bilateral agenda and analyze the performance of agreements reached by the presidents of both countries, Zaharova added.

They will also examine the realization of joint projects, including the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and the gas pipeline Turkish Stream.

The ministers will discuss preparations for a high-level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council meeting, while also taking the Syrian conflict onto the agenda, the report stated.
