Mehriban Aliyeva meets with Foreign Policy Adviser to Japanese Prime Minister - PHOTOS

First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has today met with Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan Tomohiko Taniguchi, the president’s press service reported.

Azerbaijan's First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva expressed her confidence that Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan Tomohiko Taniguchi’s visit would contribute to the development of the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Japan. Besides, Mehriban Aliyeva hailed the successful development of the friendly cooperation between two countries in economic, political and humanitarian fields highlighting the importance of the State Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan.

Touching upon the successful bilateral relations on energy sphere, Mehriban Aliyeva said that two of great Japanese companies -  "IMPEX" and "ITOCHU" have been operating in our country for many years. Besides, she stressed their active involvement in development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil fields. Azerbaijani First Vice-President stated that being one of the world's most advanced economies Japan draw the attention of the world for its experience in information, construction technologies and transport fields. 

Azerbaijan`s First Vice-President emphasized the significance of expanding cooperation in humanitarian fields. Furthermore, Aliyeva underlined that close cooperation in the field of culture would expand our relations noting the importance of the organization of culture days. Moreover, Japanese tourists can be interested in travelling to Azerbaijan, said Aliyeva noting that the development of tourism is one of the key priorities for our country.

Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan Tomohiko Taniguchi said that political relations between the countries are at the high level and keeping good relations with Azerbaijan is important for Japan. Talking about the high-level cooperation between two states, he emphasized the importance of cooperation in the energy sector.
