Azerbaijani gymnasts took medals in Germany and France
The 2015 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup and World Challenge Cup series on individual apparatus kicked off in Cottbus, Germany on March 22.
The four-day event brought together a top class field of 173 gymnasts from 36 countries, which included numerous World and Olympic champions.

Azerbaijan was represented by successful gymnast Kristina Pravdina.

On the first day of the competition in the Uneven Bars qualifications Kristina performed beautifully, earning Azerbaijan the silver medal with 13,800 points. Portugal Ana Filipa Martins with 13,475 points took the bronze medal. The highest score went to Swedish Jonna Adlerteg who gained 15,033 points.

Baku European Games Test Event All-around champion Kristina, a former World and European Championships competitor for Russia, became an Azerbaijani citizen late last year.

Meanwhile, French city of Calais hosted the 28e Tournoi International du Pas de Calais 2015 on March 21-22.

National gymnast Jala Piriyeva succesfully participated in the competition, winning the gold medal for hoop exercise. She also took three silver medals in the all-around for the exercises with a rope and clubs.

Another gymnast Ayshan Bayramova brought silver medal to the country for performance with the ball.

Moreover, Azerbaijani gymnasts also won first place in the team placing.
