Azerbaijan business center in Astrakhan to get tax preferences

Project on construction of Azerbaijan's business center in the Russian city of Astrakhan has received the status of an especially important investment project, TASS reports citing the regional economic development ministry.

This status gives a number of preferences, including a reduced rate on income tax. Ten other projects received this status along with the Azerbaijani project.

"In the Astrakhan region, 11 investment projects with a total investment of about 27 billion rubles were awarded the status of 'a particularly important investment project'. Last year, the list included the construction of the Azerbaijan business center in Astrakhan with an investment of more than 200 million rubles. The list also includes a project on construction of a closed training arena with artificial ice with an investment of more than 300 million rubles," the head of the regional economic development ministry, Alexei Popov, said at the ministry's board meeting.

The construction of Azerbaijan's business center was launched in December 2016. The facility is expected to be opened in March this year. The building's total area is 5,000 square meters. The multi-purpose five-story building will house an exhibition hall, a conference room, spacious office rooms, a mini-hotel.
