President Ilham Aliyev receives Romanian Deputy PM

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received Deputy Prime Minister of Romania Ana Birchall.

Romania’s Deputy PM Ana Birchall expressed her and Romanian president’s condolences to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in connection with a fire in Baku’s Drug Abuse Treatment Center, which led to human casualties.

Ana Birchall expressed her satisfaction regarding her participation at the sixth Global Baku Forum organized by Nizami Ganjavi International Center. She also stressed the significance of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Romania in 2017.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev touched on the announcement of 2018 as the year of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

Deputy Prime Minister of Romania Ana Birchall said that Romania is interested in expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union and will support it. She noted that Azerbaijan plays an important role in the implementation of strategically important projects for Europe and that Romania considers Azerbaijan a country that contributes to stability and security in the region. She said her country is committed to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres and expressed confidence that the intergovernmental commission would play an important role in this regard.

Ana Birchall emphasized that Romania sees Azerbaijan as a country contributing to the stability and security of the region. 

She stressed that Romania intends to further expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres, expressing confidence that intergovernmental commissions will play an important role in this matter. 

The sides also underlined the importance of mutual support within international organizations.
