Parviz Shahbazov handed over a corresponding letter of accession to the Secretary General of the International Energy Charter, Urban Rusnak, at the Energy Efficiency Conference.
The Minister underlined the importance of the draft law on energy efficiency that discussed at the conference, as well as its influence for the Azerbaijani economy in future.
Shahbazov noted that Azerbaijan has been a member of the International Energy Charter since 1998: "The International Charter of Energy has received an international status in May 2015. Azerbaijan has made a decision to join the Charter and a corresponding letter of accession was presented to the Secretary General of the International Energy Charter, Mr. Rusnak."
"The draft law will be reviewed by experts and relevant government agencies after its approval", he said.
