BBC airs reportage on history of Azerbaijan`s oil industry
The BBC News Channel has aired a video reportage on the history of oil industry in Azerbaijan.

The reportage drew attention to the role of Baku oil during the years of the World War, adding the leading countries of the world craved for Baku shores because of the “black gold”.

“These lands are rich of oil. In 1900, a half of world oil was produced in Baku. The oil boom attracted peoples from all parts of the world, including the Nobel and Rothschild brothers to this country,” the author noted.

The author said until the mid-19th century oil was mainly used in the mode of life and medicine. But later the oil started to be widely used in industry.

The reportage also featured the history of Azerbaijan.
