Russian citizens in Baku may get extra help on voting day

Russian citizens, who will be in Azerbaijan on March 18, the day of presidential election in Russian Federation, but won’t be able to come to the polling station personally, will be visited by representatives of the embassy, thus allowing them to vote, head of the consular department of the Russian embassy in Azerbaijan Andrey Mikhalsky said during a press conference in Baku on March 15.

He noted that a special phone number (+994 12 498-60-16) is active for that purpose.

Mikhalsky invited all Russian citizens, who will be in Baku on March 18, to participate in the voting.

He reminded that polling station in the consular department’s room of the Russian embassy in Baku will be open from 08:00 till 20:00 on March 18.

The embassy will also organize an exit pre-schedule polling in Ganja on March 17 from 10:00 to 16:00, the official noted.

Head of the consular department also added that observers are expected at the polling station.

He noted that thorough information on election is available on embassy’s and the Russian Central Election Committee’s web sites. Moreover, results of the voting as well as the participation stats will be available there on March 19.

Answering the question regarding the security measures, he noted that all issues have already been coordinated with law-enforcement bodies and the security will be fully ensured.
