Azerbaijan opens criminal case regarding Armenia plundering Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General's Office has investigated materials submitted by “AzerGold” CJSC regarding illegal mining of minerals in Azerbaijan’s occupied territories by Armenian Armed Forces.

During investigation it was revealed that “Vallex Group”, "Base Metals", "ACP", "Lernametalurgiai Institute", "Teghut" registered in Armenia and other countries, and other companies' heads and individuals have illegally crossed Azerbaijan’s state border and established enterprises in Azerbaijan’s occupied territories without state registration in the manner prescribed by Azerbaijani laws, earning illegal income by illegally extracting minerals in Soyudlu, Gizilbulag in Kalbajardistrict, in Vejnali in Zangilan district, in Demirli in Terter district, the General Prosecutor's Office and "AzerGold" CJSC jointly told AzVision.az.

During investigation, images of the “Azersky” satellite of “Azercosmos” OJSC and geological-search data provided proof of illegal extraction of ore deposits in Azerbaijan’s occupied territories.

Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General's Office has opened a criminal case under Article 192.2.3 (illegal ownership) and Article 318.2 (illegally crossing Azerbaijan’ state border) of Azerbaijan’s Criminal Code and preliminary investigation was entrusted to the Department for Investigation of Grave Crimes of the Prosecutor General's Office.

At the same time, Azerbaijan will send an appeal to the relevant international court dealing with economic disputes as well as, the law enforcement agencies of the countries which registered the companies engaged in illegal mining of minerals in Azerbaijan’s occupied lands.
