In his lecture, Lajčák spoke of the challenges facing humanity, including poverty, climate change and international terrorism.
He hailed cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN. Lajčák commended the country for its contribution to the intercultural and interreligious dialogue and fight against international terrorism.
He also praised Azerbaijan`s constantly growing influence, saying that the country is hosting a large a number of high-profile internation events.
On the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Lajčák called on the OSCE Minsk Group to speed up efforts to facilitate the soonest possible solution.
The lecture continued with a question and answer session with the President of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly.
