Azerbaijan completes pre-election campaign for presidential election

The pre-election campaigning in connection with the April 11 presidential election in Azerbaijan has come to an end, AzVision.az reports.

According to Azerbaijan’s Election Code, pre-election campaigning starts 23 days prior to the voting day and is stopped 24 hours before the start of voting.

The pre-election campaigning started on March 19 and ended at 08:00 (GMT +4) on April 10.

Eight candidates were registered to participate in the April 11 presidential election in Azerbaijan. The candidates include Ilham Aliyev nominated by the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), self-nominee Zahid Oruj, Araz Alizade, nominated by the Azerbaijani Social Democratic Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, nominated by the Whole Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, Faraj Guliyev, nominated by the National Revival Movement Party, Hafiz Hajiyev, nominated by the Modern Musavat Party, Razi Nurullayev, nominated by the Initiative Frontists Group and Sardar Jalaloglu, nominated by the Azerbaijan Democratic Party.
