OSCE PA mission continues election observation in Azerbaijan

The election observation mission of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is made up of 50 parliamentarians from 20 member countries, said Margret Kiener Nellen (MP, Switzerland), the head of the OSCE PA observation mission.

She noted that the OSCE has been conducting election observation in Azerbaijan since 1995.

“I attended the opening of one of the polling stations at 07.30 a.m. today. We continue our observation,” Kiener Nellen added.

Azerbaijan is holding presidential elections today, on April 11. Eight candidates are registered for participating in the elections.

On the voting day, 5,426 permanent polling stations and 215 temporary polling stations in 125 constituencies are operating in the country.

The election is observed by 894 international observers (61 organizations, 59 countries) and 58,175 local observers.
