Erdogan: Turkey not going to ask Armenia`s permission
"Armenia never accepted the hand of peace".
Armenians purposefully arranged the 24 April events so that they coincided with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Canakkale battle.
The statement came from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as he spoke in an interview to France 24.

Erdogan reminded that this year Turkey is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Canakkale battle and is not going to ask Armenia`s permission.

"This is a historical date and it has absolutely nothing to do with the events in Armenia. Just the other way round, they arranged the events the way they coincided with our date", the Turkish president said.

He noted that when the matter was about problems between Armenia and Turkey, Turkey was always first to make a positive step and extend a hand of peace. But, according to him, Armenia never accepted the hand of peace.
