The event brought together more than 70 participants from ECO countries – Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The participants focused on aspects of development of the regional market of transport and communication services, freight and passenger traffic through railway, motor, sea transports and civil aviation. They also discussed infrastructure projects in the field of transport and logistics, raising competitiveness and profitability of the main transport corridors passing through the ECO countries.
The ministers also stressed the topicality of such projects as creation of a modal highway for Central Asia via Turkey, construction of Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey transport corridor and the stirring up of the Europe-Caucasus- Asia (TRACECA) transport corridor.
