EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee adopts joint statement

A Joint Statement and recommendations were discussed during the second session of the 15th meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Baku on May 8, APA reported.

Javanshir Feyziyev, Azerbaijani MP, Co-chair of the EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee noted that Armenia continues to resettlement of Syrian Armenians in the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

Feyziyev proposed adding an amendment to the Joint Statement to call on Armenia not resettle Syrian Armenian refugees in Azerbaijan’s occupied territories. The proposal was rejected.

The provision on arms control in the conflict zone was not adopted as a result of the Azerbaijani side's objection.

The Joint Statement includes provisions on cooperation.

The statement was adopted by a vote.
