No discussion on Azerbaijan expected at PACE spring session
There will be no discussion on Azerbaijan at the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on April 20-24.
Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, MP Samad Seyidov told that general discussions on Azerbaijan are expected to be held during the summer session on June 23-27.

“During both committee meetings and the autumn session, what we are concerned by is to hold up issues regarding Nagorno-Karabakh. We always bring up the issues of the Azerbaijani hostages still being in hostage and Armenia’s violation of silence on the front line. We are also working to give impetus to the activity of the rapporeur on the situation in the seven surrounding districts occupied along with Nagorno-Karabakh. There is ongoing work on the general report in this regard,” said Samad Seyidov.

Rapporteur of the PACE Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, British MP Robert Walter is due to prepare a report titled “Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and other occupied Azerbaijani territories”. He was on a visit to Azerbaijan on March 12, and is planning to visit Armenia in May.
