Azerbaijani defense minister: Armenia lost more than 30 soldiers this year
The Azerbaijani army has complete control on the situation along the contact line and is overpowering the enemy, Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, who is on a visit to Georgia, told journalists on April 2.

According to the minister, all provocative attempts made by the enemy have always been retaliated adequately.

“The opposing side is suffering heavy losses. I would like to specially mention that the enemy army is terrified nowadays. The soldier that crossed into the Azerbaijani side also informed us about it. We have constantly been tracking processes within the Armenian army through a variety of ways. With direct attention and care from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the Azerbaijani army has become so mighty that Armenia too perfectly understands it, and you journalists can witness that in their official statements and websites. Their recent unsuccessful operations too indicate it. Armenia’s military is suffering f heavy losses nowadays, and these failures on the front line also affect their domestic policy,” Hasanov noted.

Hasanov stated that since the beginning of this year, Armenia has lost more than 30 soldiers.

“According to official information the Armenian Defense Ministry disseminated, more than 30 Armenian soldiers were killed. According to various media reports, Armenian military causalities reached 50 this year. I officially announce that 8 soldiers of the Azerbaijani Army have been killed since the beginning of this year. We protect our country, and our soldiers gave their lives for the sake of the homeland. And Armenian soldiers are agressors and serve in occupied Azerbaijani territories. As Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated, if an Armenian soldier doesn’t want to be killed, let him not go to Aghdam, Fuzuli,” the defense minister noted.

The minister also added that the confusion in the Armenian army affected the mood of the population.

“The Armenian people began to hold rallies outside the Defense Ministry, Presidential Administration, protesting against the hiding of military losses and demanding to investigate noncombat-related incidents. It shows the enemy army is unable to resist the Azerbaijani soldiers. And it is natural, because thanks to the successful domestic and foreign policy, Azerbaijan’s economy is developing rapidly, there is great progress in politics. Of course, this development contributes to the strengthening of Azerbaijani armed forces,” Hasanov completed.
