Azerbaijani armed forces to hold first night time operational-tactical exercises
Azerbaijani armed forces will hold large-scale operational-tactical exercises at night for the first time on April 5, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said on April 3.
The exercises will involve all types of troops, according to the ministry.

The exercises will be held under the leadership of the country’s Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov in accordance to the order of President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, the ministry said.

The exercises will involve 15,000 people from the personnel, around 200 armored vehicles, over 300 missile and artillery units, 12 helicopters and eight Air Force aircraft, air defense units armed with modern defensive systems and others.

The following tasks will be fulfilled during the exercises: tasks for management of units and divisions of the ground forces, organizing and committing attacks, break the defensive line of the enemy with tanks and infantry fighting vehicles at night in low visibility conditions. Moreover, there will be fulfilled tasks on interaction among the troops committing attack and air defense.

The motorized infantry and tank units, missile and artillery units, anti-aircraft missiles, helicopters and airplanes will launch live ammunition and missiles at night.

The exercises will last till April 10.
