"Gas from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field will be transported to Europe in 2020", Azerbaijani President said in his letter to the participants of the "Caspian Oil and Gas" exhibition.

The International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference, the largest energy event in the Caspian region, marks its 25th anniversary this year. The exhibition will be held from the 29th of May to the 1st of June at Baku Expo Center.

The letter reads as follows:"My warm greetings to all of you! I congratulate you on the opening of the 25th "Caspian Oil and Gas" exhibition.

The International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference is of great importance for the development of oil and gas field in littoral countries of the Caspian Sea including Azerbaijan. All these events, which had been held in Azerbaijan, play a very important role in the implementation of strategic projects, boosting the integration to the world economy and building a global partnership.

Currently, we continue the implementation of the Shah Deniz 2 and South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion (SCPX), TANAP and TAP projects. Overall progress of the Shah Deniz 2 and South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion (SCPX) is slightly ahead of schedule at over 90% complete. Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) construction project has already been completed by 93 percent. We will celebrate the transportation of gas from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field to Turkey in the near future. In 2020, we expect to make gas deliveries to Europe.

My warm greetings to all the guests again! I wish the exhibition and conference success. Thank you.".
