Switzerland keen in import of Azerbaijani agricultural goods

Azerbaijan’s embassy in the Swiss Confederation held a meeting with the leadership of country’s Migrolino shops with 313 affiliates and 800 million Swiss francs annual turnover. Migrolino is the affiliate of the huge Migros Company with 40 billion Swiss francs annual turnover.

The sides discussed Azerbaijan’s potential of export of agricultural goods to the Near East and Northern African region. The participants of discussion were highlighted on the ongoing agricultural reforms in Azerbaijan, governmental measures taken to promote development of agrarian sphere, as well as state subsidiaries and reliable investment environment created in the country last years. It was stressed that the Republic of Azerbaijan has great potential for export of agricultural commodities which are considered agriculture brands in many foreign countries and are on demand in foreign markets.

Representatives of Migrolino shops stated their readiness to arrange sale of Azerbaijani goods and possible increase of the number and assortment of goods in the years ahead.

Note, Azerbaijan in 2017, has exported to Switzerland non-oil products of $143 million. The Swiss Confederation is the third country after Turkey and Russia, for export of non-oil products of Azerbaijan.
