Azerbaijan, EU to discuss changes in European Neighbourhood Policy
Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU) will discuss changes in the European Neighbourhood Policy within the framework of the visit of EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn to Baku, which began on Apr.8.

During the visit, the sides will also discuss the strengthening of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, the upcoming summit of member countries of the Eastern Partnership in Riga, raise the issue of consultations of the European Union to change the Neighbourhood Policy.

EU Commissioner`s visit to Azerbaijan will last until April, 9.

Eastern Partnership is a program of the European Union, aimed at the development of the EU integration relations with six countries, namely, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia and Belarus.

In October 2014, the European Parliament approved the new composition of the European Commission. Starting from November 1, Austrian politician Johannes Hahn succeeded Stefan Fule at the post of European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations.

Another summit of the Eastern Partnership member-states will be held in Riga on May 21-22. Azerbaijan is an active partner of the EU within the framework of the Eastern Partnership.
